Reflections by Carl Homstad

I want to thank you all for coming today. Although for some time because of congestive heart failure, Lucy was on oxygen and confined to a wheelchair, she was alert and happy up until she entered the hospital. We had discussed her death many times and she was ready to go to the next phase. On her last day Lucy was unresponsive, but we think she could hear the well wishes of her many visitors. An hour before she died she opened her eyes and although she couldnt talk, she was alert. We read her scriptures and she passed gently on. I also told her some jokes, and although Lucy didnt tell Noweigian jokes she enjoyed a good laugh, and she wanted this service to be a happy occasion. So I am going to tell a couple of them now.

Ole was on his deathbed when he smelled Lefse cooking. He managed to crawl downstairs to the kitchen. He was reaching for the lefse said "Ole, thats for the funreral."

So, Ole called the funeral home and said " Lena just died and I was wondering if you could come pick up the body?" The person fromthe funeral parlor replied "Sure, where do you live. Ole replied" On Rhodedenron Street." OH" was the reply" Can you spell that?" and Ole said" How bout I just haul her over to oak street?"

Waiting on an Angel

by Ben Harper

Waiting on an angel
one to carry me home
hope you come to see me soon
cause I don't want to go alone
I don't want to go alone
Now angel won't you come by me
angel hear my plea
take my hand lift me up
so that I can fly with thee
so that I can fly with thee
And I'm waiting on an angel
and I know it won't be long
to find myself a resting place
in my angel's arms
in my angel's arms
So speak kind to a stranger
cause you'll never know
it just might be an angel come
knockin' at your door
knockin' at your door
And I'm waiting on an angel
and I know it won't be long
to find myself a resting place
in my angel's arms
in my angel's arms
Waiting on an angel
one to carry me home
hope you come to see me soon
cause I don't want to go alone
I don't want to go alone
don't want to go
I don't want to go alone
